So we've added loads of new animations and character tweaks, updated props and tutorial lines, and done two new voice over sessions! The amazing Paul Warren has done incredibly fun voices for a friendly patron in the inn, and also the grumpy coach driver, which have really brought them both to life! And we finally managed to get a voice for our main baddie: LaBleugh from the incredible (and big Les Mis fan) Steven Kelly! We had a lot of fun, and managed to improvise a whole new running gag. The one thing we weren't able to do in time was a pickup session for the main character, Claude, so unfortunately there are a bunch of bad-sounding or absent lines. But we'll get these recorded and updated in the next month or so. Here's the video update, which also has info on our upcoming event schedule:
So this month culminates in 2 big things: the public demo, and the Kickstarter. So we've been doing a lot of work getting both of those ready, the Kickstarter needs a lot of maths for all the physical rewards: costing for printing, shipping and packing, and descriptions of the all the different tiers and pictures of art assets, and a video... But it's coming together, and we are excited to make this live on Thursday 2nd April!
The first two days of a Kickstarter are really important to it's success: the more momentum we get in the early days, the more it will be featured in Kickstarter pages and newsletters, so please back if you can (there's even a £1 tier!) and share with anyone you think might be interested! It's going to make a huge difference to the scope of what we are able to do with the game. We are getting so much amazing feedback, and the Kickstarter is a key part of being able to give the game it's full potential.
We also want to give a big thanks to Sandpenguin, aka Pablo Morales for sharing our project with his fans: he's working on the beautiful pixel art point-and-click comedy fantasy Broken Relic which you should play the demo and wishlist today!
Thanks for reading, go play the demo and follow the Kickstarter, and it will be live in just a few days!
